Kim, Jay and their two children live in a funky 1970s house they have painstakingly renovated in a sophisticated and contemporary style. Things were going along swimmingly until they got to their basement. Stuck in a disco time warp with bright orange stucco walls, headache-inducing fluorescent lighting and a colossal brick-clad fireplace, this room was in serious need of an update.

Family-Friendly Fun
My clients Wendy and Michael are a fun-loving family of four that had the ultimate parental home problem; a family room overrun by the kids. This room was stuffed to the gills with toys and trinkets and Mom and Dad were desperate to reclaim the space and make it work for the whole family. My mission was to create an all-ages playroom that would be stylish enough for adult entertaining but still funky and fun enough for the kids.

Lofty Ambitions
Soni and Raj met on a blind date, fell instantly in love and sealed the deal with a traditional Indian wedding with 450 guests. Their fairytale continued as the two moved into their first home together — a large townhouse in close proximity to downtown. But reality soon set in when their extended family descended upon their house, and overnight guests became a regular occurrence. While the couple loves the company, they had nowhere to comfortably sleep all of their visitors.

Transform a basement into a functional room
Eager for more elbow room, Tina, Kulbir and their two children moved from the city to the suburbs. They renovated most of the rooms in their big, new house with ease, but they were stumped when they got to their cramped and dated basement. Both self-professed computer geeks, Tina and Kulbir wanted the room turned into an efficient home office space.
