Case Logic hires former Samsonite exec Tom Sandler

LONGMONT — Case Logic on Tuesday announced the hiring of Tom Sandler, former president of Samsonite for the Americas, as its new chief executive officer.
Sandler replaces J. Peter Storz, a founder of the company who will remain on its board of directors.
Storz will “provide ongoing counsel” to the company, according to a statement announcing Sandler’s hiring.
Sandler was named president of Samsonite of the Americas in 1998, and also worked for accounting giant KPMG for 20 years.
Founded in Boulder in 1984 with two audio cassette storage cases, Case Logic now has a line of more than 200 storage products for cassettes, CDs and DVDs.
It has been headquartered in Longmont in a 156,000-square-foot facility since 1991.
The company employs approximately 200 people worldwide, more than half of them in Longmont.
