MEXICO CITY — Mexico’s largest private mortgage company will open an office in New York next week, offering loans to Mexicans working in the United States to buy homes in Mexico.
Victor Manuel Requejo, chief executive of Hipotecaria Nacional SA, or Hipnal, told a news conference Friday that the New York office will target an estimated 1.5 million Mexicans living in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
The company also plans to open offices in U.S. cities along the Mexican border as early as September, he said.
