An editorial in the Oct. 18 issue of the Daily Times-Call incorrectly stated that Xcel’s intentions for the duration of its requested electricity rate increase.
According to regulations, if Xcel receives revenues above $40 million above costs, it then files to immediately reset rates at a lower level to credit the excess to customers.
If the excess is less than $40 million, the credit to customers is figured into the rates for the following year.
