Town Treasurer

Responsible for performing accounting functions of the Town and maintaining financial records, including payroll, tax returns, checking accounts, lease payments, bill lists, financial reports, assisting with the annual audit and budget preparations, and the like. Other special projects would be as assigned by the Town Manager or Town Board. Part-time position with variable hours 8 to 16 hours per week most weeks, and about 24 hours per week during audit and budget preparation times. Would involve only occasional evening meetings. Candidates must have accounting and billing software experience, spreadsheet and database software proficiency, customer service orientation, and strong analytical and communications skills. A degree in accounting or closely-related field plus five years prior accounting experience, or any equivalent combination, is required. Prior municipal fund accounting experience preferred. Town will consider either employee status or independent contractor status for this position. Compensation is competitive, depending on experience and qualifications. Open until filled.
